Welcome to Zany Zia’s Hats to Where!

This series has been “in the works” for quite some time. Several years ago, my sister, Amy, came up with an idea for a story that used hats to transport readers to different places. We talked about it for a while… then thought about it for a while… then sat on it for a little while longer. When I say a while, I mean months, then years.

But the idea kept brewing, and eventually I knew it was time to write the story. Zany Zia, the gypsy shop owner, had come alive in my imagination, and she was impatient about being kept quiet for so long.

I’m thrilled to introduce you to Zany Zia. Zia is Italian for aunt, and I’m guessing you know that zany means… crazy. Zany Zia, is the crazy, gypsy aunt I’d like to be: fun, wise and imaginative. She guides the characters through challenges and encourages them to find the hero within themselves. I hope that as you read these stories, you’ll discover the hero within yourself.
