Welcome to Zany Zia’s Hats to Where!

This series has been “in the works” for quite some time. Several years ago, my sister, Amy, came up with an idea for a story that used hats to transport readers to different places. We talked about it for a while… then thought about it for a while… then sat on it for a little while longer. When I say a while, I mean months, then years.

But the idea kept brewing, and eventually I knew it was time to write the story. Zany Zia, the gypsy shop owner, had come alive in my imagination, and she was impatient about being kept quiet for so long.

I’m thrilled to introduce you to Zany Zia. Zia is Italian for aunt, and I’m guessing you know that zany means… crazy. Zany Zia, is the crazy, gypsy aunt I’d like to be: fun, wise and imaginative. She guides the characters through challenges and encourages them to find the hero within themselves. I hope that as you read these stories, you’ll discover the hero within yourself.

Live your adventure!

About the Author

Erin K. Casey is an author and editor with a passion for helping people see new possibilities for their lives.

As an avid traveler and professional storyteller, it only makes sense that Erin would write the “Zany Zia’s Hats to Where” adventure series. “I write about personal development and entrepreneurship for a living, so my Zany Zia books feel like recess,” she says. Her goal for the young readers’ series is to teach valuable personal development lessons through exciting and engaging stories.

Erin earned a BA journalism from Sam Houston State University with a focus in advertising and photography. The combined study of words and imagery helped her establish a successful career as a writer, editor, book coach and marketing professional. She has written hundreds of articles on topics ranging from faith and religion, to entrepreneurship, to celebrity and business profiles. Additionally, she’s helped bestselling authors, business and life coaches write and publish their messages. A few of her clients include Darren Hardy, publisher of SUCCESS magazine; Allyson Lewis, a popular keynote speaker and time-management expert; Pam Guyer, a keynote speaker and successful entrepreneur; and Gregg Pechmann, a financial coach and real-estate trainer. As the book editor for SUCCESS magazine, Erin reads a minimum of two books a week and is always looking for excellent ideas to share with readers.

During the past 20 years, she has extensively studied the teachings of personal development masters such as Zig Ziglar, John Maxwell and Jack Canfield. From that study and her personal experiences, she’s learned that life is what you make it. “You can either complain about what doesn’t suit you or work to create a life you love,” she says. As such, her life motto comes from Henry David Thoreau: Live the life you have imagined.
